1. Introduction
Blink is a social entertainment and watch-party application. It lets people create and join Rooms, watch media together in synchronization, chat, use social features such as friends, followers and Clubs, speak with live voice, share their screen, and play games. This Privacy Policy explains what information Blink collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices and rights you have. Blink is developed by Anas Rajput.
By using Blink you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use Blink.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, Blink may collect or process the following.
Account and profile
- Account identifier, email address, display name and username.
- Avatar and other profile media you choose to add.
- Authentication-provider information, such as that provided when you sign in with Google Sign-In.
- Social information, including friends, followers and following, Club membership, and Room invitations.
Content you create
- Direct messages, Room chat and Club chat, including images, GIFs and other attachments you send.
- Reactions and other interactions with content.
Room and media activity
- Room membership and roles (for example Leader or member).
- Media and watch-session state, including what is playing, playback position and playback state.
- Votes for the next video and votes to skip the current video.
Games, rewards and entitlements
- Game participation, results and rankings.
- Premium and reward entitlement state, and balances of virtual currency, including Diamonds.
Technical information
- App version and device and operating-system information.
- A push-notification token, so we can deliver notifications to your device.
- Diagnostics, crash reports, performance and security signals, which we use to keep Blink working and safe. We rely on Firebase services for some of these.
We do not intend to collect information beyond what is needed to provide and protect Blink. Some features are optional, and the information listed above applies only when you use the related feature.
3. Voice
Blink offers live voice in Rooms. Voice is delivered through LiveKit. Blink does not intend to permanently record normal live voice. If a recording feature is introduced in the future, it will be disclosed before it is used.
4. Screen Sharing
Screen sharing is voluntary and starts only when you choose to share. While you share, your screen content is transmitted to the authorized participants in that Room. Blink does not permanently record normal Screen Share sessions. Please be careful not to show private information, such as messages, passwords or financial details, while sharing.
5. Advertising
Blink may display advertising using Google AdMob. The advertising formats Blink plans to use are banner, native, interstitial and rewarded ads.
Advertising partners, including Google, may process device, advertising and usage information to serve and measure ads, subject to your consent where required and to applicable law.
Blink does not use private messages, live voice content or Screen Share content for personalized-ad targeting.
6. Advertising Consent
Where the law requires your consent for advertising, including in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Switzerland and in jurisdictions covered by applicable US state privacy laws, Blink will use Google’s User Messaging Platform or another certified consent flow to ask for your choices. You can use that flow to give or withdraw consent, and to choose whether ads are personalized, to the extent your region offers those choices.
7. Rewarded Advertising
Rewarded ads are voluntary. At the time of this policy, the rules are:
- Each successfully completed rewarded ad grants 1 Diamond.
- A maximum of 5 successful rewarded-ad completions can earn rewards per day.
- A failed ad, an ad that does not load, or one closed early does not earn a reward.
- Blink’s servers determine reward eligibility and protect against duplicate rewards.
These limits may change, and we will update this policy if they do.
9. How Information Is Used
We use information to:
- Provide your account and deliver the Blink service.
- Synchronize media and playback in Rooms.
- Provide chat and social features.
- Provide live voice and screen sharing.
- Run games and rankings.
- Manage rewards, premium and entitlements.
- Provide recommendations and suggestions for media.
- Send notifications you have enabled.
- Prevent abuse and fraud and keep Blink secure.
- Diagnose problems and improve performance and reliability.
- Show advertising, where permitted and subject to your consent choices.
- Comply with legal obligations.
11. Purchases, Premium and Virtual Currency
If you make a purchase, a payment provider such as Google Play processes your payment details. Blink generally receives transaction and entitlement information, not your full payment details. Diamonds are virtual items with no cash value.
12. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, which depends on the type of information, how it is used, operational needs, security and fraud prevention, and legal obligations. We have not set fixed retention periods for every category of data, and we will update this policy if we do.
13. Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data. Blink includes a Delete Account option in the app’s settings. You can also email us at blinkhomecinema@gmail.com with your request, and tell us the email address or username of your account so we can find it.
Deleting an account removes your ability to sign in and removes you from Rooms. Some information may be kept where needed for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or legal obligations. Content you sent that has already been delivered to other people, such as messages they received, may remain visible to them.
14. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, withdraw consent, object to or restrict certain processing, receive a copy of your data, and complain to your local data-protection authority. You can also manage some choices, such as notifications and advertising consent, in your device settings or in the app. To exercise a right, contact us at blinkhomecinema@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
15. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
16. International Processing
Blink’s service providers and infrastructure may process and store information in countries other than your own, which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we take steps to protect your information when it is transferred.
17. Children
Blink must comply with the child-privacy laws that apply where it is used. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of those laws, and we do not knowingly use personalized advertising contrary to them. If you believe a child has provided personal information in a way that is not permitted, please contact us at blinkhomecinema@gmail.com and we will act on it.
18. Third-Party Services
Blink works with third-party services, including Google (Sign-In, Firebase, AdMob), Supabase, Railway, Amazon Web Services, LiveKit, YouTube and Google Drive. These services collect and use information under their own privacy policies and terms, and we encourage you to read them. Links and content from third parties are outside Blink’s control.
19. Policy Changes
We may update this policy as Blink changes. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, for example in the app.
